Mrs George Barr Undergoes Emergency Appendectomy
Mrs George Barr visited her husband at Methodist hospital in Omaha as he underwent an emergency appendectomy Sunday night. Doctors found the appendix had grown to the intestines creating a serious condition and the operation required time. He came through the procedure as well as expected and remained weak but improving in the hours afterward.

Death comes to a long time Plattsmouth resident
Mrs. Mary Ann Dabb aged 87 died Saturday at the Nebraska Masonic Home after a long life anchored in Plattsmouth. Born August 3 1842 in Ireland she came to the United States as a child. She married Thomas S. C Dabb and settled in Plattsmouth in 1878 where she helped build the community. Surviving are one daughter seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren with funeral services held at Sattler funeral home with Rev H E Sorter conducting and music by Mrs E H Wescott.

Sheriff and deputy recover stolen Ford near Bellevue
Sheriff Bert Reed and Deputy Rex Young recovered a Ford coach stolen Saturday night at Alvo and abandoned roadside near Bellevue. The car belonged to an Alvo teacher, with a suspected gang behind the theft. A Lincoln Chevrolet coach was also taken to Alvo earlier, as part of a caravan plundering the county.

Dog Bites Boy in Playful Attack on Street
Monday morning Reno Edgerton sustained a small left forearm laceration after a German shepherd owned by Stuart Eigenberger leaped at him near Third Street west of the Hinky Dinky store. The dog, known to jump on passersby, followed the boy and caused a frightened retreat before medical attention was given by Dr. J. S. ee.

Arrest in arson case at Siert farm Nebrackas
A fire leveled a barn on the Max Siert farm near Millard Nebraska with four mules two horses three cows and farm equipment lost. A former hired man believed behind the blaze was arrested in Douglas Street and jailed by Deputy Sheriff Ed Cobb and Deputy Fire Warden Haduk. He had earlier served a prison term for setting a Burlington lumber-yard fire at Plattsmouth. The suspect used the name Steve Biddick when convicted locally.
