Residents prepare for a week of cleanup with city and state officials coordinating to remove debris and reduce fire risk. The plan includes inspections, disposal of items, and funding for seed beds and plantings as part of a broader fire prevention campaign.
In Nehawka the village held a fast election with five trustees to be chosen. Incumbent supporters and independents competed as votes tallied. The result: three of five trustees elected, with WF Sheliten, JF Suichfon, and Seat Norris named to govern next year. The pool hall issue also appears settled by a 71 to 66 vote for the proposition.

The St Luke's Episcopal Church held a Monday confirmation for twelve, with Bishop Ernest Vincent Shayler of Nebraska officiating and delivering a sermon praised for its Easter season insights. Five aged and seven children joined, as Father W. A. Lee assisted, and the choir performed Vincent's As it Be gms to Shawn with Mrs. John W. Falernne solo.
The death of Mrs Charles Sage occurred at 1 o'clock Sunday morning in Omaha at the family residence on Sird and Charlies streets. She was twenty years old and died shortly after the birth of a baby girl Saturday evening. The deceased and her husband had lived here for several months after their marriage. Funeral services will be held at the Omaha home on Tuesday afternoon.
F Mason, known as Kike, visited here from Omaha on Saturday evening. He is manager of the Lincoln Highway stage line between Omaha and Fremont, operating five sixteen passenger buses. He also runs the Mangold garage at Elkhorn and has built a successful career in the automobile trade.
Miss Helle Speck and her brother Harry Speck returned from Bassett Nebraska after learning their aunt Mrs. Frank ONeill is gravely ill with plural pneumonia. Doctors fear for her recovery.
A district court hearing was held over a compensation claim arising from Loren McCrary’s death on September 20 1920. The Travelers Insurance Co is cited for $4500 with John F Wolff as employer. Witnesses described the fatal accident involving a truck while McCrary was attempting to catch a ride near the Wolff garage. The hearing was conducted by State Labor Commissioner Frank A Kennedy with defense by Burt Hell of Omaha and claimants’ counsel Aubrey Daxbury and Abh Tidd.
Three residents in the South Ten area attempted to deliver liquor to dispel a dry spell but were stopped by Officer Alvin Jones and Sheriff J. Quinton. George Mansmell faced a $100 fine and loss of a car, Petros was fined $1600 for possession, and the third man avoided fines as no liquor was found on him. The car was confiscated and to be sold at public auction.
Relatives announce the birth of a fine little son and heir to Mr. and Mrs. James Mrasek near Grant Nebraska on March 20. The mother and baby are doing nicely and friends in the area express happiness at the news.
Mrs Helen Ried reports the death of her son-in-law George W Raderick of Des Moines Iowa from injuries after a car accident Thursday. He was fifty and survived by four children including a nine year old. Funeral services were held.
Recent court session chaired by Officer Alvin Jones saw multiple cases of intoxication and related violations. Defendants Peisall Covert and Kajase faced fines totaling 14 dollars. additional defendants faced varying penalties. Transportation and gear possession cases were heard, with hearings continuing for several involved individuals.
Tuesday's gathering of the W. C. T. U. society drew a large attendance at Mrs John F. Gorder’s home. Rev Miss Lydia Herrick of University Place delivered remarks on women’s interests and marital concerns, followed by a vocal solo by Mrs Ed Romarud. Refreshments were served.
Miss Eleanor Frampton of Lincoln leaves for San Francisco to sail to Australia under a twenty two week contract with the Annette Keller man company. She has been in California with the Keller-Tian company and visits her parents before heading to work in the movies abroad.
Preparations underway for a visit from the Grand Lodge of Masons of Nebraska to Omohy with about 800 members expected. A special Burlington or Missouri Pacific train will carry delegates from near and far to tour the home and participate in ceremonies. Local officers and Plattsmouth Lodge No. 6 organize a reception plan inviting all state lodges to attend.
From Tuesday's edition Marvin Tritsch eight son of Mr and Mrs Mike Tritsch suffered severe burns when boiling water spilled on him in the kitchen after a collision with a family member. He received immediate medical care and was resting easier but remains in serious condition.
Frank F Buttery of this city received word from Lincoln announcing the serious illness of John J Buttery veteran Burlington railroad engineer and brother of Frank and Matt Buttery A son Harley Luttery conveyed that the illness is serious and hospitalization may be required Frank and M L Buttery left for Lincoln to be with him Friends of the family express regret and hope for improvement.

The regular monthly meeting of the board of county commissioners opened at the courthouse with Commissioners Harris Cover wed Farley present. The session focused on reviewing claims against the county and approving expenditures in county business.
At a meeting in Omaha the Nebraska Masonic Home Association accepted deeds transferring land secured by the Plattsmouth chamber of commerce. The land will extend grounds west of the home and support a new roadway from the Missouri Pacific Station. The improvement contract was awarded to Fred Clingy and construction will start immediately.
The Tuesday election in the city was the quietest in years with very little voter interest. The sole major contest was for mayor between Carl Johnson and John Cory, while in the fifth ward L. E. Vreman, a Republican, faced Frank Sebatka, a Democrat.

W G Ramsey a former Plattsmouth man and Omaha resident was named to the Omaha school board as a successor to Mr Straight. Born in Plattsmouth he studied locally and at the state university later becoming county attorney of Cass County in 1908. He moved to Omaha and served as assistant county attorney before entering private practice and gaining prominence as a young, successful attorney.
This morning at the Maly Rosary Catholic church in the west part of the city, Mies Eleanor Sedlak and Mr. Frank Slatinsky were married. Rev. Ferdinand Swesser performed the ceremony. many relatives and friends attended. The bridal party included Miss Teresa Sedlak and Joseph Sedlak Jr as best man. A nuptial breakfast followed at the bride’s brother Joe Sedlak Jr’s home, then they left for a honeymoon in Ojala. The bride, born in Bohemia, recently arrived in the country and has lived with her brother. The groom works for the Burlington and is well regarded. They will reside in the city after a home is prepared.
