The July 1 increase in Social Security payments will raise retirement checks in Collin County, with local beneficiaries receiving an average boost. Latest SSA figures show community totals and individual benefits, indicating residents will receive about 614 thousand dollars in total payouts.
The automatic raise tied to the 5.9 percent CPI rise boosts monthly payments for retirees couples and widows. In Collin County total local benefits for the new fiscal year rise to about 22.03 million from 20.8 million last year.
