Auto Wrecks Costly For County Residents

National statistics show one car in ten involved in an accident annually and the average motorist experiences two by age eight. In 1976 US traffic fatalities reached 47,100 with injuries and over $20 billion in economic loss. Collin County averages 28 motor vehicle deaths yearly with about 40 injuries per fatality. County car owners face costs around $6.5 million per year for 42 010 passenger cars, compared with state and national averages.

Routine Day Marked By Plano Police

Plano Police Dept handled 73 calls for assistance and investigated two motor vehicle burglaries a residential burglary and one criminal mischief case. Five thefts including three bicycles were reported. Three people were arrested a 22 year old man on a Dallas Police Dept traffic warrant a 22 year old man for no license and a 35 year old woman for driving while intoxicated.
