November Construction Sags for Plano with 49 Percent Drop
Plano building activity fell sharply in November with only 94 single family homes started, down 49 percent from October and 26 percent from November last year. Year to date total rose 46 percent to 2,306 homes. Autotronics Systems to build a $120,000 self service station at 2900 W 15th, plus Griffin Olds sales office planned at 1100 N Central. Four interior finish permits issued for Golden Dragon Restaurant, Bennie Wai Chou beauty salon, Bob Ralls shop, and Adobe Village. Additional permits include Vic Hango gift shop at 2969 W 15th and a 150 bed nursing home at 3208 Thunderbird Lane.

PSHS Holiday Concert Preserves Christmas Music Tradition
Senior High School music dept presents the annual holiday concert at 7 30 p m in the Performing Arts Theatre on campus. About 200 students perform in five choral groups and a 47 member orchestra under R J Winters DeWayne McCullough and Gail Wesson. The program opens with the 45 member Girls Choir performing Greenwillow Christmas Still Still In The Stable and Silent Night. The Girls Ensemble Harmony performs In The Mood Celebrate The Marvelous Toy and Has Anybody Seen Christmas. Before intermission Concert Choir and Orchestra perform Many Moods of Christmas Suite Que The 16 member Mixed Ensemble Music Corporation sings Sunshine in my Soul The Twelve Days of Christmas We Wish You A Merry Christmas and Gone At Last. The Concert Choir returns with seven excerpts from Handel s Messiah Hallelujah chorus. The program ends with a three choir arrangement of O Holy Night by combined Senior High choirs and Sigler Elementary School students.

Ginger the lion cub kept as family pet in Plano
Ginger is a four month old African lion cub living in a Plano home with Wilson Brown and his five year old daughter Stephanie. The cub weighs about 40 pounds and will grow to around ten times that size in two years. Brown explains lions can be good pets if cared for properly and notes he will not declaw or remove her teeth.

Jaycees Plan Christmas Shopping Tour For Needy Children
The Plano Jaycees will host up to 200 needy children for a Christmas Shopping Tour this weekend. Joe Martinez leads the event at Ben Franklin Store Park Mall with $6 credit per child and Santa handing out stockings. Proceeds come from previous Haunted House and Christmas tree sales to fund the effort.

Dog Tags For 1977 Now Ready
The 1977 dog licenses will be available starting Monday. City Ordinance No. 66-3-3 requires all dogs in the city to be licensed by January 1. To obtain the $1 tag, present a current rabies vaccination certificate from a licensed veterinarian at the Plano Health Dept. or the City Animal Shelter.
