Wednesday morning arrest followed a Tuesday night hostage situation. Chief Duane Kinsey praised the by the book police response, emphasizing containment, evacuation of bystanders, and a careful, non rushed entry. The suspect was isolated turned off electricity and eventually subdued after hours of standoff.
Plano leaders attend the third annual Plano Rotary Club and Chamber of Commerce luncheon where Jack O'Callaghan, president of the North Texas Commission, urged equal determination to that of the Wildcats to spur growth. He spoke on growth direction, rumored shopping areas, and the need for local initiative to address traffic and development.
An escapee from Collin County Jail, Terry Winton, was captured in Red Bluff California by FBI officers and returned to Collin County. His accomplice Levelle Collins remains at large and believed to be in California. Winton faces an appeal hearing for a 20 year burglary sentence before potential escape charges.
Fire Marshal Bill Threet notes seven residences and one mobile home burned in November in Plano. Damages totaled $23,624.80 with additional incidents affecting four vehicles, a fence, a utility pole and an appliance. Fires caused by grease and various other sources spanned grass, trash, trees and paper storage.
National Weather Service updates forecast for Lubbock to partly cloudy and cold with a high near 40 and a low around 15. Spectators should bundle up as they attend the Saturday game.
The Plano Quarterback Club urges Wildcats fans to meet the team on arrival at Love Field Gate 2 at 7 20 p m Saturday after the semifinal in Lubbock versus Odessa Permian.
