Rezoning Hearing Set on City Service Center and Tracts

A public hearing before the Planning and Zoning Commission will address rezoning the city service center from agriculture to light industrial. The 13.45 acre tract lies east of North Star Road, south of FM 544, with LI-1 and LI-2 zoning depths. The meeting also covers Los Rios IV plat, a 91.5 acre tract west of Los Rios Blvd and south of Rowlett Creek, featuring 300 lots with 247 SF-3 and 53 SF-2, plus Phase II replatting and Jenison Addition final plat north of Ranch Estates.

Abuse cases rise as child neglect shocks Plano

The death of three year old Christopher Ervin from suspected abuse and the month long hospital care of his one year old brother Anthony reveal a growing problem of child abuse in Collin County. Dee Roessler of the Texas Dept of Public Welfare reports 35 to 40 monthly abuse or neglect complaints from Plano and surrounding areas with 651 children in 267 families helped in two years. The majority are neglected and factors include education, supervision, and age.

Meeting Set For County On Monday

Collin County Commissioners Court holds a 9 a.m. meeting at the County Courthouse in McKinney. Agenda includes bidding for a pickup and two trucks for Precincts 1 and 4, purchasing two typewriters for the Index Dept, renewing the delinquent tax contract with Gates Steen Inc for 1977 through 1978, and an executive session on personnel matters.

Lengthy Agenda At School Board Meeting
