Sheriff Smith Announces Housecleaning Across Collin County Jail

McKinney Courier-Gazette reports Collin County Sheriff George Smith of Plano says he is cleansing the department after finishing an internal probe into alleged misconduct. Investigations touched on prostitution involving prisoners, improper sex conduct by trustees, missing money and liquor from storage, and deputies drinking on duty. Outside Audit Request Refused by Collin County Commission

A group of 28 residents pleaded Monday for an outside audit of county funds, signing a petition with about 300 supporters from Precinct Two and beyond.
