Plano ISD board to discuss energy cutdowns plans

Trustees will meet Tuesday at 7 30 p m in the School Administration Building 1517 Ave H to discuss seven action items. Agenda includes energy conservation for facilities and operations and use of school buildings by non school groups. They will consider a temporary water line to central facilities and approve a temporary interfund transfer. A health and physical education curriculum committee for grades K through 8 will be appointed and cafeteria prices may be adjusted. A report from the instructional program evaluation committee will be heard and the board will discuss Goals for Public School Education in Texas adopted by the State Board of Education in April.

Chamber To Host Coffee Event This Week

The Plano Chamber of Commerce hosts a coffee at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Community Room of First National Bank. Hunt Properties owner R. D. Ford will host, with Springbrook and Creekwood Apartments sponsors. Open to all business and professional people regardless of chamber membership.

Airplane Owners Fight Tax Levy in Plano Plan

About 50 airplane owners at Airpark in Dallas North and Shiloh Airports draft plans to resist a new personal property tax of 1.44 dollars per hundred on 70 percent of wholesale airplane values. They claim the levy targets Shiloh Airport to aid Richardson city plans. Pilot Robert Prestigiacomo vows owners may abandon the three airports. a protest before the tax equalization board is planned.

County approves new pay for constable after tie vote

Collin County commissioners reversed a prior stance and vote 4 to 1 to raise Harry Callahan of precinct 3 to 190 dollars monthly starting Dec 1, deducting taxes and social security and offering optional health and life insurance. The move does not resolve back pay or exemplary damages sought by Callahan.

Plano P Z Will Meet Tomorrow on 29 Acre Ranch Estates Tract

The Planning and Zoning Commission will review a preliminary plat and plans for a 29 acre tract south of Ranch Estates. Developer Joe Marchman & Associates proposes 13 estate lots on land zoned estate development just north of a single family-1 parcel in Los Rios Development. Meeting is Monday at 7:30 p.m. in the Municipal Building.
