Election ballot boxes returned after 1974 precinct seizure
Lane Judge Nathan E White Jr announced that boxes with voted ballots for Precincts 47 49 and 451 in the November 1974 General Election were returned by Tyler federal officials. Board Plans Schools Tour For Tuesday
Plano school trustees will tour four schools and the district maintenance facility during Tuesday night’s School Board meeting. The seven member board will depart at 7 30 p m to visit Mendenhall Elementary Williams High School Bowman Middle Hughston Elementary and the maintenance and transportation center before returning to 1517 Avenue H around 9 30 p m to hear enrollment and maintenance reports and discuss dedication dates for Jackson and Hughston elementary schools.

Plano General Hospital and its physician recruitment committee report 16 new doctors have moved to Plano since the hospital’s June 1973 announcement. Three are general practitioners, three obstetrics gynecology, and others specialize in ophthalmology orthopedic surgery pediatrics pathology plastic surgery psychiatry and more. Several interns are expected soon as office space becomes available.

The Plano Jaycees sponsor a four day Community Fair September 3 to 6 at Alma Road and Janwood Drive. Activities include game booths rides and merchant displays with limited booths inside the main tent. Chest X rays and tuberculin skin tests cost 3 each and run Friday and Saturday nights 7 to 10 p.m. Admission is 25 cents. kiddie rides 40 cents and other rides 50 cents.
