Joseph Murray Dies at Newport From Influenza
Joseph Murray, a signal service member stationed at Newport Rhode Island, died at 8 15 PM at Newport Naval Hospital from Spanish influenza and pneumonia after contracting the disease at sea. He was 23 and had worked for Signal Manufacturing Co in New York and served in the Navy. He will be buried in his city church, with his sister Miss Murray of West Fourth Street Newport at his side.
