J. Cortings and G. Lohr led the event with speeches after a plentiful meal, and return travel ended near midnight. Marguerite Byrnes, visiting from New York, planned to stay a week with cousin Mary Donnelly.

Youth Arrest Solves Bicycle Theft Case in City Court
A 17 year old, Michael Seranga, was arraigned before City Judge Willian G. De Meza for stealing a bicycle owned by Chas Christiansen of 1642 West Third Street. Seranga is suspected in over twenty wheel thefts citywide and was remanded to await trial to allow police to recover more bicycles. He claimed recent moves from New York to New Durham and said he sold wheels to fund trips to New York.
