Truell Hall To Be Torn Down For Materials Sale
Ueton County Court plans court sanctioned sale of Truell Hall on Belvidere avenue and Netherwood Hotel property to “house wreckers” for dismantling. Bidders contest for the site as plans include preserving parts for a possible hospital while the surrounding grounds may be sold as residential lots. Built around 1879 by Johnann Shepard Godown, the hotel has long operated with losses. Mrs. J. R. Truel gave it the name Trust Hall.

Ernest Streeter of Plainfield, an octogenarian known as the Young Old Man, returned from a rapid six city journey through the Middle West. At 83 he trekked to Detroit Windsor Hamilton Niagara Falls Tonawanda and Lake Erie towns then back to New Jersey while assessing land near Windsor for the Dodder Brothers immense car factory venture.
