Wreck derails twenty freight cars near Plainfield
A broken arch bar on a zinc lead car caused a Friday evening wreck two miles west of Plainfield on Pennsylvania line. Twenty cars of freight No. 20 286 derailed, four demolished, cargo included lumber zinc lead asphalt flour and gasoline. Trainmen H E Margin and Flossie Elbrink uninjured. Debris removal and detours planned with wrecking trains returning lading to Indianapolis.

Dr Maria Jessup dies at home in Fairfield Friday at age 76. She practiced medicine there for about 30 years after teaching in Hendricks and Hamilton counties for twenty years. Over eight Sundays ending in April the Fidelity women class taught by Mrs. John Hanna and the C M E Inc men class taught by Israel Light competed for attendance. The men led with an average of 26.625 compared to 17.625 for the women. women’s low was 12 and high 41, men’s low 20 and high 42.
