Geo. W. Benjamin night watchman at the Boys' School was struck on the head Friday night by a sling shot improvised with muslin and an iron top. Three boys escaped from Company 2 Tippecanoe barracks. two fled down a fire escape and were caught on a farmer’s farm after being guarded with an 18 inch pistol. Benjamin recovered enough to return days later.

A motor camping party led by Miss Beryl Wadley and Virgil Pike with Mr. and Mrs. Roy Holsclaw and others from Indianapolis returns from a western trip. They visited St. Louis Kansas City Denver Pike's Peak Colorado Springs the Dakotas Yellowstone Montana and attended the Frontier Round-Up. They left Montana July 6 and travel via Wisconsin stopping along the way home in a three room tent.

Fire destroys Mooresville frame buildings in water crisis
A major fire in Mooresville gutted a frame building and damaged a vulcanizing plant a garage and the rear of a Ford service shop. Firefighters were delayed by the water supply failure and an Indianapolis emergency squad aided the effort. Estimated loss runs three to four thousand dollars with several cars burned or damaged. The blaze lasted about two hours.

Runaway ice wagon team thwarted by bystander
A team of horses hitched to Asa Goods ice wagon bolted in downtown on a Wednesday morning. The rig ran from the hill east of town to Mill Street where Mr. Good chased in an auto. Kex jumped on the wagon, seized the lines, turned it north, and stopped the horses. One horse was seriously injured.
