Four corner invitational will bring Amo Brownsburg Monrovia and local high school to Plainfield for a two game afternoon session and a night title game with a consolation. Ashur Cox will officiate all games and a crowd is expected to boost support.
In a slow but hard fought game last Saturday night the Legion lost to the Green Castle All Stars by three points with a final score of 23 to 26.
Ollie Hobbs had a floating bone removed after a fall in childhood causing discomfort. Fred Hobbs had tonsils removed last Saturday and returned home Sunday. Harry Hobbs had tonsils removed Tuesday. All three are reportedly progressing well.
Plainfield Lodge F and A M will confer the Entered Apprentice Degree next Tuesday evening February 14 at 7 45. The event marks an initiation ceremony for new members in the local lodge.
Dr Davis of Greencastle supervised the Methodist district quarterly meeting Sunday evening at six. The session covered church needs and hindrances to progress with an informal sermon following the worship hour.
The Gorn Committee for Armenian Republic Relief reports three thousand tons of American corn products reached Batum on February 1. Indiana farmers donated 280 tons, with over seventy carloads to follow and a goal to exceed 100 cars. Danville sent one car. Clayton contributed nearly $300. Plainfield drive dates February 17 and 18, joint chairs Everett Newlin and Albert Maxwell. other members include Frank Kellum and Mont Johnson. B W Anderson will accept donations without charge. It is described as a life saving service.
Margaret Johanna Peacher Giddings Rupe died February 1, 1922 at age 86. Born September 29, 1835 near Chillicothe Ohio, she and first husband C W Giddings moved to Illinois and Kansas as pioneers. Survived by four children Lincoln N Giddings C Ha Rupe Della Stephenson and George L Rupe and many grandchildren. She was a longtime Methodist and devoted to acts of service, living a life of faith and quiet charity.
A conference of the board of trustees of the Indiana Boys' School was held last Friday at the school. Members present were A. G. DePrez of Shelbyville, Jim Green of Fort Wayne, Harry Davis, and E. F. Carter of Rockville.

A fire at the home of Mrs. Sarah McClain about 11 o clock caused slight roof damage from burning soot. Shortly after noon a fire at John Tucker's home started from a similar cause, burning a few shingles. Firefighters arrived quickly at both scenes after alarms.
Rhoda McClain age 78 a Hendricks County pioneer died Monday at her daughter Mrs Otis Frazee’s home on Rockville road near Avon from pneumonia Her late husband was a county commissioner for thirteen years She was sister to the late Col Eli Ritter and mother to Glen McClain of Washington A funeral was held at the Frazee home and burial followed at Maple Hill cemetery
At a recent Mothers' Department meeting members worked on comforts to sell for a fund. The aim is to raise enough money before next school year to start hot lunches for school teachers. The Friday Club luncheon at Mrs. Frank Johnston's home featured an Apricot salad menu. The Union Home Economics Class held an all day meeting with Mrs. torace Ballard, discussing Purdue meeting reports. The Home Economics Department will meet at Mrs. Carl D. Hoadley's on Main Street tomorrow afternoon.
Ira M. Holsclaw becomes a traveling salesman for a Cedar Rapids engineered valve re facing machine weighing about ninety pounds. He plans to market to Indiana garages and automobile dealers and to parts of Kentucky.
The C M B class of the Christian Sunday School taught by Israel Light meets Sunday at 9 15 am at the Princess theatre. Organized about a month ago for young men 17 to 35 they plan special music each Sunday and a February 15 library banquet with about 150 invitations and speakers Supbt C A McGonarle and Horace L Hanna.
Rivalry heightens as voting nears close with Miss Coble still lead and Miss Bowman in second. Pike rises from fourth to third while Miss Sylvia Cooper trails. Contest ends Feb 18 with a final voting window until eight Monday evening. Voters can place ballots at listed local businesses and theaters for a total to date of 1,864,350 votes.
A Hendricks County Berkshire Association meeting at the library outlined the state Berkshire hog sale set for February 28 at the Plainfield Motor Car Co. garage. Plans for a pig club for boys and girls were discussed with Norman Parsons leading the division. B. J. Barker and R. M. Core spoke, and local sale arrangements were organized by A. H. Ashton, Otis Jackson, Chester Parsons, and Jay Bank.
Talent from the local Friends Church offers a Colonial Evening on Tuesday February 24 at 7 30 pm at the church. The program includes tableaux plays music and an orchestra with a quartette. Admission is 25 cents for adults 15 cents for children under 11. The public is invited.
