New Peanut Butter Machine Co Opens Plainfield Factory
A new factory, the Peanut Butter Machine Co, will open in Plainfield with a ten year lease on the Prewitt Building. The plant, formed by absorbing Modern Pattern Co of Indianapolis, will manufacture peanut butter machines under original patents. Indianapolis and Bloomington investors join Newcastle and Rochester funds, with W. R. Elliott driving the project. Operations expected to start April 1.

W A Vawter Dies in Atlanta Hospital
William A Vawter president of the Baker Vawter Co Chicago died Christmas morning in an Atlanta hospital. Mrs Vawter and their daysitter arrived in time to spend several days with him. Mrs Vawter had been quieted at her Chicago home where sister Mrs John Hanna had spent weeks before returning when Mrs Vawter could join her husband.
