Dr Ernest Cooper becomes the first known physician to make a professional call by airplane. He responded to a sick child near Clayton seven miles away, rode in a plane after calling Ernest Cutrell, landed at the landing field, treated the patient, and returned home in nine minutes. Eva Chappell Stephenson born February 7 1849 in Louisville Kentucky died August 18 1891 in Plainfield aged 71 years 6 months 11 days. She married Elwood F Stephenson December 25 1866 and lived in Hendricks County except for a few years in Missouri mother of ten children with Albert living near Dallas Texas. She joined the church early and lived a quiet life devoted to home family and faith. The obituary notes moral virtues and reflects on sorrow and reassurance from the Master.
