Calvin Drake and his wife of Piscataway mark their twenty fifth wedding anniversary with a family gathering at William Drake's home. Friends from the city, including Mr and Mrs Joli Ross and the Baynons, join in the glad surprise.
Local ministers met with the Republican City Executive Committee to discuss the political scene. They concluded the Republicans intend to run men of known integrity and avoid a Temperance Ticket that could split votes and aid Democratic victory.

The Boards of Registration held sessions at polling places yesterday from one to nine o'clock to revise and correct poll lists and add missing names. The city total registered is 2 772 with ward breakdowns noted. Watches were seized after a complaint by Louis H. Brown as Benjam in Alaband faced Justice Nash for acquiring two watches on installments and not settling the balance or returning the items. The defendant agreed to stand trial.
A Courier note from 1891 recounts Cons. A. Reeb et al accusing Councilman Hegeman of keeping snakes and denying ownership of the story. Reeb claims the snakes belong to Hegeman, who allegedly caused the reporter to miscredit the tale.
Mr and Mrs Peter Johnson celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary with a wooden wedding at their Plainfield avenue home last evening. About thirty relatives and close friends attended enjoying hospitality, singing, and refreshments marking a successful event. The County Clerk’s office will be open Friday night from 7 to 9 for issuing naturalization papers, allowing workers a chance to obtain documents after work.
