Parade carriage recalled from Madison Avenue for Elm Elizabeth pageant

A parade carriage of Alert Hose Company was moved from the Madison Avenue house to Elizabeth for a county parade. Members later joined a ceremony at Plainfield and Metuchen where officers were installed. A court case involving Mary Wood and William Moore reached a brief settlement, and the Plainfield club reports growing membership and financial status.

The famous violist Ovide Musin married contralto Louise Tanner yesterday at noon at the bride's home on Stuyvesant Square New York. The Rev. Th officiated and guests were invited. Musin and his wife are to appear at Music Hall two weeks from tonight.

Embezzlement Allegation Ties Man to Firm in Court

Accused of a serious charge, the man was arraigned before Justice Nash on embezzling money from the firm Hutchings. He was bound over for a hearing at Music Hall where a melodrama titled Fire Patrol will be staged, with seat sales beginning Saturday.

Levy Withdrawn in Union County Mortgage Case

The levy was withdrawn after the creditor judged the prudent course and the keys were turned over to the mortgagees attorney. In Union County Court the National Bank of Plainfield sued James M Dann and another defendant, a case that lasted most of the day with a late afternoon verdict. A related storm on East Second Street disrupted power due to two electric light wires sparking.

Excellent Showing of Relief Work in Past Year

The Relief Association reports a quiet year ending October 1 with steady community support. It treated 84 families comprising 273 people, including 35 new cases, and provided food, fuel, clothing, and modest earnings for several families amid illness and hardship. Continued on second page.
