Jail report on Fitzsimmons escape and inspector actions
The Allegheny County Prison Inspectors released a public synopsis of the Jail Investigating Committee findings on Fitzsimmons escape on September 24. The report details how the prisoner allegedly exited via the Warden's window, the lack of timely rounds by Officer Larimer, and suspected contraband and letters linked to the escape, with ongoing questions about jail management and staff lapses.
