Free Medical Aid and the Manager's Annual Report
The Pittsburg Free Dispensary Nos 4 and 6 Sixth Avenue issues its sixteenth annual report detailing an endowment fund strain, building delays, and a planned new $22,000 facility aimed for occupancy by November 1. It notes 10,042 calls for relief, 448 office-prescribed cases, and 11,831 prescriptions as well as memorial tributes to Dr. David Hostetter and William Thaw. The report discusses state aid battles with Governors and legislative attempts dating back to 1876, and the dispensary's aim to serve as a central charitable hub with space for lectures and other activities.
