Death of John R. Steel in Pittsburgh Community Leader

John R. Steel died suddenly at his home 4418 Fifth Avenue from heart disease last night at 9. He had been ill for a day or two and had long been active in Western Pennsylvania business and public life. He came to the United States in 1419 and settled in Pittsburgh with his family, later returning to work in county affairs and retiring. He leaves a wife, a son John F. Steel cashier of the Freehold Bank, several daughters, and is survived by brothers and prominent relatives in the area.
