Rush for licenses fills Clerk of Courts office

The Carnegie Library Building will be ready in about a week with the gallery awaiting pictures. Superintendent Hamilton will oversee floral displays for the formal das with President Harrison present. Clergy from both cities will attend. Bishop Whitehead and Bishop Phelan are invited for prayer and benediction. James B. Scott has not yet heard Washington plans for next week amid Cabinet family concerns.

Schenley Park lease talks stall on farm vacates

The City Parks Committee met in the city attorney's office to arrange with current tenants to vacate farm leases in Schenley Park. Tenants John Smitt Andrew Zender J Snyder Bier hold leases of 15 years one year one year and six and a half respectively. An offer was made by the city but terms were not agreed. Tenants have until Saturday afternoon to consider before next committee meeting.

The Monongahela River rose yesterday and kept rising, hindering shipments as stations along the river ceased work due to high water. Morgantown and nearby landings showed substantial increases in water levels, depressing coal trade prospects and offering little hope for improvement.
