Coleman Fires at Suspect in Rock Barrage Near Home
Walter Coleman, a colored employee of Mouch's Auto Inn, reports rocks thrown at his home and neighboring properties late Saturday night. He fired a revolver at a man seen approaching, believing he hit the intruder in the leg. Two women saw two men in hospital yard, one limping, but police found nothing. Letters torn and scattered suggest an extended disturbance tied to a prior nearby attack on Mrs. Buckman about a year earlier.

Italians Occupy City of Janina in Northwestern Greece
London reports Italian troops have occupied the city of Janina, a 15 000 inhabitant town in northwestern Greece about 100 miles south of the Macedonian battle front. The Athens dispatch described the occupation as the cabinet prepared a provost, noting Janina’s strategic position near the Albanian border. In Belgium south of Ypres British forces repelled German attacks and gained ground on several sectors, while air battles occurred with British downing three enemy machines. The German push at Chemin-des-Dames near Cerny penetrated a small salient but was soon driven back with prisoners taken.

The Folly of Fashions Law of Clothes
