The official British dispatches announce Lieut. Alan Campbell has been awarded the Military Cross for leading a tank into action. He is the son of Mrs. Patrick Campbell, the well known actress admired by theater-goers in Britain and America.
Chicago February report says Harry Sherman offers a $60 000 purse for a ten round bout between Mike Gib and Les Darcy with a 60 40 split. Sherman provides a $10 000 certified check as good faith. He wants a three judge panel with majority verdict. Darcy and Gibbons will decide by Tuesday after a New York conference.
Alfred Maes, employed at Schultz farm east of Troy, was riding a motorcycle to the Schultz residence when he skidded on a sharp turn and plunged into a bridge guard rail. He was knocked out and later taken to the Schultz home in serious condition after initially refusing hospital care.
The Chamber of Commerce versus J. P. Marshall goes before Justice John Daganhardt at nine o'clock Friday. Marshall is among members delinquent on dues, and the Chamber seeks court action to enforce signed dues payments. Witnesses are expected from both sides and extensive evidence is anticipated.
The will of Evelina Brown of Piqua was probated on Thursday in April. All property and monies are to be shared equally among her seven children.

Nelson of the Postal Telegraph company was badly injured Wednesday when he fell about thirty five feet from a pele near Hidean. He suffered a fractured right thigh and possible internal injuries and was taken to Celennain Hospital in Troy. He will be hospitalized for weeks while working out of Troy at the time of the accident. Also noted is a Masonic lodge meeting on Friday evening February 6 with fellow craft work and officers named.

Word arrived of the death of Jonathan DeWeese at his Dayton home. He was a brother of Attorney Alva DeWeese of this city.
