Pinehurst Nursery blossoms from field to forest and farm

In two years a wilderness around Pinehurst has been transformed into a thriving nursery and market garden. Watts built up aisles of sashes and stock, doubled acreage, and collected 50 000 to 60 000 plants while pioneering native shrubs and evergreen stock. The enterprise now supplies northern parks with plants and furniture trees. A northern visitor can pick cotton, dig peanuts, and smoke tobacco grown on site.
