The State fair in Raleigh draws more than 10,000 Tar Heels and visitors, with full exhibits and strong attendance. Races underway, promising a grand finale when doors close Saturday night, as managers are praised for the event’s success.
The Alshehore Courier reports a new through train on the Aberdeen & Asheboro line from Aberdeen to High Point. Soon through passenger service may run Washington to Pinehurst and Aberdeen, passing Asheboro in the forenoon and returning the same day, delivering a direct northern route to Pinehurst’s rapid growth.
Sheriff Jones of Moore county advertises a tax meeting for Pinehurst and Mineral Springs townships. On Saturday Oct 28, at the house of Mr Ab Nry, taxpayers will gather to receive the current year’s taxes, with some starting before daylight for the round up.
