Carolina Cotillion Delights Guests with Novel Dances and Favors
The Carolina cotillion, hosted Tuesday evening by the local youth, drew village guests to a polished program of dances and decorative favors. 9:30 p.m. to midnight featured the Waltz Dream to Hands Across the Sea, a steeplechase tandem race, a Swiss bonnet favor, and the famous ballet with three men in ballet skirts. The event closed with confetti and the Home Sweet Home waltz. Notable participants included Mr. John E. Porter, Mrs. John Philip Sousa, and Mrs. A C Travis among many couples and organizers.
