Famous Masterpieces Living Pictures Draw Large Charity Sum

The annual Living Pictures show at Carolina Music Mall drew a full house with enthusiastic encores and raised 125 dollars for charity. Performers recreated famous portraits in three frames and featured a long list of named participants delivering graceful period costumes and dramatic poses.

United North and South Amateur Championship Preview

Advance entries for the eleventh annual United North and South Amateur Championship promise a premier field led by National Champion Fownes. Notable entrants include I Davis Evans Gardner Hunter Whittemore and others. The event tops the year’s important contests with a women’s event next week followed by a best-ball match and the Open Championship, the Amateur beginning with a qualification round on the twenty ninth.

Pineneedle Golfers Hold Tournaments At Holly Inn

The Pineneedle golfers of Detroit gathered at the Holly Inn for several tournaments including a cup by W A Livingston won by Dudley W. Smith a bronze figure gift of George B Burton won by Victor F. Dewey a cup by Mrs I W Connor won by W M McGregor and a consolation prize donated by Mr Thomas Neal won by George E Burton. Additional members in the season group include W S Rathbone H R Earle J Conner Jr T W Connor and W Herbst.

Nicholls and Jolly Triumph In Four Ball Play

Crowds watched Thursday’s four ball match between Professionals Nicholls and Jolly and the Ross brothers. The visitors won two up and one to play with a best ball of 72 against 70 for Nicholls and Jolly. Donald led with 72, Nicholls and Jolly shot 75, while Alex struggled with 80.

Village Club Announces Thursday Sale and Bridge Party

On Thursday next The Village Club will stage a sale of useful and decorative articles at The Carolina Music Hall from three to eight. After the sale a progressive bridge party will close the evening, with proceeds benefiting the Club's charitable work.

Beachey and his Curtiss biplane arrive today for a three weeks stay, with the program outlined last week in OUT LOOK. For now golf will be backgrounded by interest in the bird man.
