Vueful tableaux at Village Hall benefit Dickinson School
An evening of tableaux and living pictures at the Village Hall drew a large Villager audience. The Holly Inn orchestra provided music and a collection of 833.18 was raised for the Dickinson Colored School. Performances featured Alma Sarles Clement Bowers and Frances Turner in various historical and literary tableaux, with Maria Wescott and May Freeman among others. An oil copy of The Smithy by Sir Edwin Landseer, linked to The Carolina, is the only oil copy in existence and was secured through W. Fuller Tufts.
