Beall Beats Hunter In 36 Hole Spring Golf Match

Edward C. Beall of Uniontown defeated Robert Hunter in a 36 hole final at the Annual Spring Tournament on number two course. Beall’s driving averaged 218 yards with midiron second shots leaving him within putting distance. Hunter led early, but Beall won most long holes while Hunter excelled on short play. The match showed the advantage of the accurate short game in the later holes with Beall closing strong.

Little Horn Comes Back In Thrilling Race Showdown

In a brisk spurt driven day, Little Horn led most of the stretch and held on to win by three lengths over Whisper Bell as crowds roared. Mable Worth impressed in the two year old trot, sweeping two heats after early missteps. Esther Tufts shone in the girl’s events, while Rodman Wanamaker rode Garth to victory in the flat race.
