Priest Cup Golf Meet Draws Deep Field In New England
In the winter handicap golf program for the H W Priest trophies the field grew large and the contest intensified. W W Chick of Boston won the gross score cup with eighty four while I C Bates Dana of New York City took the net score cup at seventy three. Several players posted seventy seven nets but no cards were turned in for others listed. The event drew many onlookers and featured a long list of participants from cities including Boston New York Somerville and Brookline with notable golfers such as Dr C D McBurney J F O Rourke J C B Dana and C R Corwin among others.

Harvard Cup Fo crscome golfers Putt with Drivers and Putters
In addition to the regular tournament a unique Harvard Cup event was played from scratch on a short nine hole course. Participants used only driver and putter with the driver for putting and the putter for driving. Miss Carrie Check won with eighty two, Roy Keith second with eighty five.

Two golf tournaments are set for tomorrow with a possible third special event. The Berkshire cup is a men’s tournament open to players who have never played golf before January 1, 1902. The Tufts cups are offered in the women’s event for best net and best gross scores.
