Midwinter Handicap chase leads field in final shots
The Midwinter Handicap featured a tight finish with Crayton, Edwards, Ward and others vying for second as the day’s best total emerged. Owen led early with a strong bid, while Hinds of Portland posted a notable twenty four on the first round. The Handicap committee earned praise for smoothly running the program, and many women spectators enjoyed the event as the colony followed the contest’s brief summary.
