Over the next two weeks Pinehurst hosts a busy dog season with the Midwinter target tournament January 16 to 22, followed by Field Trials and Derby January 23 to 27, and the AKC Show January 30 to 31. Leading champions compete across many breeds including Fox Hounds Pointers English Setters and Greyhounds. Bank of Pinehurst holds annual stockholders meeting
The Bank of Pinehurst held its annual stockholders meeting in its new building on Tuesday afternoon. The cashier reported deposits $150000 higher than last year. a 6 percent dividend was declared and $5000 added to surplus. The old board was re elected with W W Cowgill added. The board includes J R McQueen as president and C B Hudson M C McDonald A W Newcomb as vice presidents F W VonCannon as cashier and B A Richardson as assistant cashier.

John P. Cope of Delaware Water Gap and Pinehurst cottage colony topped the weekly handicap target tournament at the Gun club with a 95 from scratch. Norwood Johnson, also scratch, was runner up at 93 and J E Thomas of Baltimore finished third with 91 plus a 10 handicap.
