Hurd Wins St Valentine Tourney Final In Golf Match

Mrs Hurd defeats Mrs Chapman 6 and 4 to capture the St Valentine women’s golf title after advancing through rounds that featured Chandler besting Saxton 8 and 6 and a marathon consolation match between Magoon and Cullen that reached the 24th hole. Chapman, Keating, Waterhouse, and Saxton also reach respective later rounds.

Open Field Trial at Pinehurst Begins With Mixed Shows

February 14, 1919 opened the Second Annual Pinehurst Field Trial Club open stake. Wastica owned by Jay V. Hall and Peggy Mont rose owned by R. Kck Armstrong failed to locate birds. Dolly Patch and Palmetto showed speed but no birds. Dolly Peach Blossom and Jack Brinkin spanned finds with Jack scoring two singles and finishing strong despite fatigue as Sunkist started the next heat.
