Replete With Surprises Tuesday German Bright Affair at The Carolina
A Tuesday German event at The Carolina drew a full hall for a brilliant, color filled evening. Twenty couples danced to Paul Jones two step and circle with a sequence of novel figures including a tennis ball, duplicate souvenir cards, a dress coated needle race, and a chariot race ending in a confetti melee. Tableaux and parlor games featured Teddy bears and favors while Mrs. Grenier of New Haven and Mrs. Partridge of Minneapolis aided with arrangements.

A substitute golf tournament open to men and women drew sixty participants at The Carolina. Two nine hole courses were set up in the social hall with PAR golf balls for prizes. Women’s winner Miss Firth of Boston defeated Miss Foran of Philadelphia after a second tie break. Men’s winner Mr Hudson of St Louis beat Mr Day of Minneapolis after a playoff.
