Village vaudeville fans hail lively Tuesday show

Mrs O C Hutchinson of Lansing and N B Stark of Montreal led a Village vaudeville night packed with novelty and humor. Acts included Anna Eva Fake mind reading by Bishop and staged by Stark as master of ceremonies, plus Gant as Heller the Great and Newcomb with German dialect bits. The Carolina Harmony Club and Pinehurst guests added musical turns and comic relief.

European Tour Offer Promises Five Minute Telegrams

The event featured notas blies from around the world climaxing with a bid to book the entire company for a European tour. The Carolina orchestra aided evening entertainment and the Ruth White of Albany gave pianoforte accompaniment for solos. Lighting by Edison, scenery by Whistler, costumes by Worth, wigs by Wiggins, shoes by Cammeyer, stockings by Chance supported the production. Over two hundred attended, including many cottagers.

SPORT FAST AND FURIOUS MEET ENDS WITH LAST-MERCHANT KILL

Nathaniel rode home alone in a fast field with a 1912 cut suit. A lively Thursday field produced forty five minutes of gallop ending in a thrilling catch as Reynold outpaced the others. Master Huntsman and Master Switty pursued a long chase finishing with a Merry Christmas brush displayed by Master Switty.

The third memorial in Capitol Square honors Zebulon B. Vance with a bronze statue dedicated in 1900. The text notes North Carolina's wartime contributions and population toll, highlighting the state’s decisive role and later prosperity starting after 1900.

Final Round 16 tennis results feature Adsits and others

Final Round 16 saw The Climax defeat Pratt and Godfrey 6-1 6-0 while Adsit and his sister advanced 6-2 4-6 6-2 against Tunis and Hamlin. Miss Adsit won the women's final over Ruth White 2-6 6-4 6-3. Adsit beat Mary Godfrey 6-2 6-0 in the semifinal and White beat Edith Hamlin -6 6-1.
