Bloody massacre at Piney Bottom and pursuit of fugitives
An Irish deserter and other aides aided John Clarke in potato bills. Daniel McMillan Duncan Currie and others were trapped at Kenneth Clarke's. Prisoners were tortured for information. McLeod was killed after a failed head strike and volley fire. John Clarke and Duncan Currie were shot trying to escape. Daniel McMillan suffered multiple wounds and died. Allan McSweeney barely escaped, others were executed. the deserter vanished as guns fired the next morning. Continued on page twelve.
