A veteran musician recalls two times performing with his orchestra before King Edward, including Europe tours in 1900 and 1901 honoring Queen Victoria. Secrecy surrounded the concerts, with clever subterfuge to keep the dates quiet while staff were told a Rothschild secret.
In November 1901 Iris Majesty plans a secret performance at Sandringham on December 1 for Queen Alexandra. A royal representative invites the narrator to perform, with strict secrecy as the event is to be a complete surprise and revealed only upon arrival at Liverpool Street at five. The band members spread the hush through London in anticipation.
