Old-time rivals clash in a comic baseball opener with oysters and clams leading a 21 to 16 result. Umpire Jimmie Gorman drew attention, Rassie Wicker wore a red and green suit, catchers battled on without chest protectors, and Louis Morris Greer, a past visitor, was remembered by locals.
A quirky game featured seven per side with modest bivalves delivering gymnastics and fast baserunning. The Oysters won 21 to 16 over the Clams as spectators, color, and a marriage announcement for Miss Mabel Adele Seymour on November 26th added local interest. Mr. Greer enjoyed golf, shooting, and riding.
Mr R M Hamilton of Pelham New York gave a cup christening dinner in honor of his Autumn golf tourney victory. The company included many participants and the seat of honor was occupied by runner up Mr C T Dunham.
