Excellent Early Season Bags for Quail Hunters
A December start brings excellent sport for quail hunters despite abundant food making birds harder to locate. Fluctuating bag reports include John C. Spring with sixty quail in six trips, J. D. Foot's best single day, and Leonard Tufts with twenty six in a day. Also noted are wild turkeys, woodcock, rabbit and wild dove sightings, with plenty of visiting sportsmen listed from Boston to New York and Ohio. Pinehurst dogs lead in training notes for a dog named Jess with months of field work and progressive woodcock and partridge points.
