Brilliant Opening Formal Golf Fixtures for Amateurs
Formal golf fixtures announce an early brilliant opening with a scratch match play tournament open to all amateurs. The United North and South Amateur Championships will be held in April with two eighteen hole medal play qualifying rounds to determine the Pinehurst Cup Carolina Cup Holly Inn Cup and Berkshire Cup qualifiers. If entries exceed sixty four, extra cups will be awarded for each additional sixteen players, with gold and silver medals for top nets and gross scores and a rule preventing one player from winning both net and gross prizes. Entrants must declare their club handicap.

The Management of the Village organizes special plans for visitors entertainment and promises numerous pleasant informal social features, highlighted by a hop at The Holly Inn.
Tournament Weekend Cup Winners and Pennsylvanian Stars
Saturday's tournament closed with Mia, J Henry Hentz Jr and G N Morgan earning Cup wins. The eight losers in first round compete for consolation cups as entries close December 29. The Harvard Cup will be awarded in a multi day event with eighteen hole medal play and match play rounds led by notable players from across the country. Mrs J Henry Hentz Jr of Philadelphia won the women's trophy with a net eighty two, finishing ahead of Miss S C Aldridge of Boston.
