Pinehurst is a unique town in the Southland described as a Yankee village in the woods. Located in Moore County North Carolina in the sand belt among long leaf pines. It lies six miles from Southern Pines seventy miles southwest of Raleigh and 125 miles from the sea coast at about 650 feet elevation noted for its healthfulness.
Tur Village, founded by James W. Tufts of Boston in 1895, grows into a popular Southern resort. Holly Inn at Pinehurst enlarged to double capacity, first class in all appointments. Casino first floor hosts a restaurant, ladies parlor, and baths. second floor offers reading room, game room, and magazine access. Pool and bath facilities on site for a fee.
