Veteran golfer wins final to claim amateur title
Defeat by a short game gave J. E. Cuddy of Cleveland a 3-2 loss to the veteran, with Billy Thayer and J. H. Clapp in a tense semifinal. Old Champion Walter Fairbanks dominated the fourth section, while Kenneth McCabe edged Harold Keith. The day's finals saw Balfe, Crooks, and Scott extend their victory margins as the field narrowed on the course.
