Deaths of Mrs. D. B. Adams at 68 in Pickens

Mrs. D B Adams died last Wednesday October 28 after a long illness with influenza. She leaves her husband D K Adams and nine children. A Grace Methodist Church member for years, she endured years of suffering before a prayer service led by Rev. Lawrence Kelly and burial at Mt Bethel Cemetery.

Clemson College offers cheap high grade beef cattle to South Carolina

A Clemson College Bureau of Animal Industry letter invites county agents to help farmers buy good Shorthorn Angus and Hereford cattle from drouth areas in Texas at 6 to 7 cents per pound fob Fort Worth. Freight adds about $1 per 100 pounds, enabling a 20 000 pound car to cost roughly $200. Lieut Mobley Dies of Influenza During War Training

Easley mourns Lieut H Gansen Mobley who died of Spanish influenza after training at Fort Sill Oklahoma and while en route to overseas service. His wife Miss Kya Wyatt Mobley, of Bailey, Bailey county, also ill, will bury him in Heath Springs South Carolina. His body will be shipped home for burial to Heath Springs.

United War Work Campaign to Begin in Pickens County

A county mobilization for the United War Work Campaign runs November 11–18 with aim to raise 16 000 for 665 local service members. Mrs George G Wells Inherits Bradley Estate

By the death of Mrs Mary B Bradley of Easley, Mrs Bessie Wells wife of Greenville city official George G Wells inherits property and about 40000 dollars in cash. The will from Major D F Bradley’s estate leaves most of a 60000 dollar value to Mrs Wells. The estate includes land near Easley cotton mill stocks and other holdings. Mrs Bradley was struck and killed by a Southern railway train at Easley at age 70.
