Death of L A Brown in Cateechee
Lawson A. Brown, an old Pickens resident and cabinet maker, died last Friday at his home in Cateechee at age 88 after a period of illness. His remains were buried at Griffin church last Sunday. He is survived by a wife and several children, including J Alonzo Brown who operates a large store in Cateechee.

The meeting adjourned after thanking Secona church and planning the Norris gathering in 1913.

Jack McCall Dead in Pickens County
Jack McCall died Sunday night at his home in Pickens county and was buried Tuesday at Cane Grove Baptist cemetery in Pickens county. He was 61, formerly lived in Double Springs, moved from Oconee a year ago, and was a Rabun county Georgia native. His children thank friends for many kindnesses during his illness and death.

Mrs M C Smith wife of the Keowee bank cashier was bitten by a dog last Tuesday and treated in Atlanta after an wound. Mr Smith killed the dog and later learned the animal had hydrophobia. The couple’s son Theo and their infant were with Mrs Smith as she improves and doctors say there is no danger.

Death of Major Micah J. Jenkins Father and son both prominent figures
Major Micah J. Jenkins son of Gen Micah Jenkins dies in Charleston after a weeklong battle with malaria fever. He fell ill at Blackville and was brought to Charleston on Tuesday. He was 55 years old and died shortly after noon.

John M. Ledford of Walhalla has been promoted to an overseer in one of the rooms at Central Cotton Mills after residing in Walhalla for years. The obituary notes William Miles Reid died at Tamassee on September 23 after a lingering pellagra illness at age 45, leaving a wife four children two grandchildren two brothers and a father.
