A special term of Federal court will open August 6 in Pickens to settle litigation over the United States confiscation of mountain lands in Ooonee county for a forest reserve. Judge Joseph T. Johnson will preside with a full panel of petit jurors. no grand jury. Civil cases only.

Obituary: W H Ashmore of Pickens Dies at 65
W H Ashmore died at his Pickens home on June 13 after two weeks illness. Confederate veteran, longtime blacksmith, Methodist church member and Mason, he is survived by six children and siblings. Funeral at Graco Methodist Church with Masonic honors.
