Miss Lennie Lewis Returns From Georgia Visit
Pickens Route 3 resident Miss Lennie Lewis daughter of the late Robin Lewis returned last week from a several month visit to relatives in Georgia and plans to make her home in Greenville. Colds have affected several families in the area. Roark Powell a progressive farmer and merchant on route 3 bought a new Chase City buggy last week. Prince Cannon did the same. Robert Welborn of route 3 made a trip to Williamston to see his car in winter quarters there. A B Walker and Mrs P J Gillespie visited relatives in Piedmont last week.

The Pickens City Council approves an ordinance dated February 25 1917 to raise funds for current expenses. It lists license fees for telegraph and telephone firms dentists physicians lawyers and many trades and businesses with due date February 25 1917 and penalties for nonpayment.

Parent Teachers Association Meeting At School House
The Parent-Teachers Association met at the school house last Wednesday with strong attendance. Twenty one enrollments were reported and officers named as Mrs Vesta McFall president Miss Isadora Williams vice president and Mrs C E Robinson secretary. The group noted improved student behavior at lyceums and agreed to award a prize for the room with the most parents at the next meeting. It meets the second Wednesday each month at 8 o clock.

Greer Mayoral Election Ordered After Protest
The Greer city council sustained Fr. Dallas Green's protest against the last mayoral race and ordered a new election for February 27. In the prior vote Adreen received 95 votes and G. G. Christopher 98, with Green alleging illegal ballots. The council allowed the aldermen to take office pending the new election.
