Anti-Conscription Meeting At Cedar Rock School House
An anti conscription gathering filled Cedar Rock school house last Saturday afternoon with Joel H. Miller as chair man, Larry C. Gilstrap secretary and A. W. Singleton treasurer. Speakers included W. L. Pickens Joel J. Miller Mr Gillespie and W. Eddie Bowen. Funds were raised to hire lawyers to challenge the law before the supreme court, and a test case is planned. A petition to repeal the law will be sent to Congress in Washington. Another meeting is planned for Cedar Rock next Friday.
