The jury found that Miguel L. Barba aged 26 a native of Arizona died after contact with a telegraph post while leaning from a lower car step of a rapidly moving railroad train about three miles west of Mess City at 5 45 p m on Sunday June 13 1897. Barba formerly served as a court interpreter at Cucson before moving to Phoenix. The funeral was held this afternoon at the Catholic church with many friends in attendance.
Ex Senator S W Dorsey completes sale and capital plan for Picacho mining group five miles south of the Colorado river near Yuma. Thirty claims form a large parcel with multiple ledges, four Nesler mines previously developed to 240 feet, bought for 250k by Dorsey from Dr Jayne. Other 26 claims acquired from various owners for over 350k, aims to fund a 100 stamp mill and railroad reaching five miles from the river, with plans to expand to 400 stamps. The deal closes in London on June 2.
The coroner hearing into Isane Hoffman's death on Battery Street began with Police Chief Laos detailing the scene. Eyewitness Rice reported two men arguing nearby shortly before the still unresolved tragedy at Hoffman's office, while L.
